THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This little Emerson is very impressive! These small radios are very collectible, and this is one of the few wooden models; most were Bakelite. Its selling price of $25 resulted in sales of over 200,000 in 1932 & 1933, considered amazing at that time. Here's a spectacular survivor, a real beauty and great collectible. Its small size permits it to be displayed just about anywhere you like. This little beauty plays well. Of course, it requires a substantial antenna, as it is only a three tube radio plus the rectifier. It has a 6' or so antenna attached now, ok for strong local stations, but more is better if you are in a remote location. Probably not ideal for a daily listener, its compact nature does generate a fair amount of heat. It is complete and original, even with the often-missing back. I refinished it many years ago, and it still looks great. You'll love it! |
