THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This AM/FM Zenith is known as the Trans-Symphony Royal 2000. It is the first all-transistorized portable radio made in the USA along with a hand wired chassis. It has awesome AM/FM reception and the sound is spectacular with the 5x7 speaker powered by an amplified circuit that puts out 500 milliwatts of distortion-free sound and a tone control. The dual antennas are in perfect condition. This radio sold for $189.95 in 1959. Today it is difficult to find in good condition. This unit does have some scratches on the face plate by the FM dial & Zenith logo. I don't consider them detracting much considering the spectacular performance of this historical and rare Zenith. It is in excellent condition and worth having as a player or in your collection. Operates on eight "D" cell batteries. The weight with batteries is 12 pounds. 11-1/2"W x 10-1/4"H x 4-3/4" D. |
