(wood tube cathedral radio)

Philco 70 Cathedral (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is the much sought after classic cathedral designed by Edward Combs in 1931. This one in the early version. It does not have the automatic volume control. This beautiful radio has been in my personal collection for about 20 years. I have recently added two other 70's to the collection so I am going to let this one go to a new home. The chassis has had all the capacitors replaced and any resistors out of tolerance also replaced and this beauty plays like new and sounds great. The chassis is exceptionally clean as seen in the photos. I did not have to do anything to the cabinet as it in wonderful condition. I did however clean and wax the cabinet. I am not sure if this is a refinish or original and the cord also has some age, again I am not sure if it is original or replaced but it sure is nice. It does have tiny blemishes in the cabinet. Email me for more photos on this radio. I will pack, insure and ship this wonderful classic radio for $35.00 additional (domestic US addresses).
