THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This three-band wood radio is classic mid-1930s design. The case is very clean with a walnut oval-like design with rounded sides. The plastic escutcheon surrounding the three-band dial is the cleanest that I have ever seen on this model. The bands themselves are all colored distinctively in red, green, or yellow. I've tried to show their brilliance on camera but the flash has drowned out the station dial's tri-color intensity. This set has been restored and it plays VERY WELL on BOTH the AM band and on SHORT WAVE. I could not believe how many SW stations that I was able to pick up in my basement workshop with 15 feet of wire. Wow!
Only blemish to the set's otherwise exceptional condition is that the tone control can be fussy; there's a small crack in the top right clear glass covering dial, and the plastic escutcheon has two pins inside the cabinet that are broken off. Very common but I want my customers to know everything! Does not at all impede the set's display or functioning. This set is rare and seldom up for auction or sale anywhere. When one is, it moves quickly at $200+. Set weighs 24 pounds. Shipping will be actual cost only. I price all my sets to fly. |
