Detrola radios sold!

Detrola 139 (1936-38)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Detrola 139 (1936-38)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This excellent five-tube radio was manufactured by one of the premier radio companies of the 1930s. Detrola also made radios for Western Auto (Truetone) and Sears (Silvertone), among others. This receives the Broadcast band (550 to 1700 KC) and Short Wave in two bands (1.7 to 16 MC) and has a brightly illuminated 6-inch four-color dial for night use. It has the original 6-inch speaker, wood back, and knobs with a repro dial that shows the station call letters (the originals are almost always faded or scratched). A complete electronics tuneup was done with replacement of all paper/wax and electrolytic capacitors with modern equivalents, all tubes and resistors checked and replaced as needed. Chassis is very clean (pics available, please ask). The cabinet was professionally restored using the same type nitrocellulose lacquer as originally used. It displays beautifully and will be a highlight of any collection. The speaker grille is cracked (as are most) but is solid and does not detract. Aux input cable has been added; play your favorite tunes or old time radio shows from CD player, iPod, phone, etc. A Bluetooth receiver can be added and you can stream tunes from your phone, laptop, etc. 90 day warranty. Nice size at 15"W x 11"H x 8"D.
