Atwater Kent 708 Cathedral (1933)
(wood tube cathedral radio w/SW)

Atwater Kent 708 Cathedral (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Atwater Kent was a premier manufacturer in the early days of radio. This radio has been in my collection for several years and is one of my favorites, but I have decided to thin down the collection. It is an eight-tube Superheterodyne receiver covering the Broadcast and Short-Wave frequencies in four continuous bands from 550KHz to 20MHz. Electrically restored, it receives all bands very well when connected to a wire antenna. The cabinet is stunning with the delicate lacework grille and original grille cloth. It is as nice as when new (finish was original when purchased, and was not stripped). I cleaned it and over sprayed the original lacquer finish. Speaker is flawless . Chassis pics are available. 90 day warranty applies. An aux input cable can be added for no cost: play your favorite tunes or old time radio shows from CD player, iPod, etc. With the cable installed, a Bluetooth receiver can be used and you can stream tunes from your phone, laptop, etc. An excellent addition to any collection! Large for a table set at 16-1/2"W x 14-1/2"H x 10"D; weighs 24 pounds.
