THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
The FADA 790 was one of the first radios built after WWII that included the modern FM band. This example is in wonderful restored condition and it works great on both bands using the internal loop antenna. It has eight tubes plus a ballast. I have sold more than ten of these and have had no problems reported. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer example; the dark brown Bakelite cabinet has no cracks or chips and no detracting scratches, dial is perfect, original grille cloth and new dial cover. Knobs still have lettering and are correct. Complete electronic restoration was performed, replacing electrolytic and paper capacitors, check and replace out of tolerance resistors, band alignment, adjust IF transformers to give peak performance, and testing tubes: replacing bad or marginal ones with good ones. I have added a cable you can use to plug in your iPod/MP3/CD/Bluetooth by selecting the Phono switch position. Bluetooth receiver is available for an extra $30 (my cost), then you can stream audio from your smartphone, computer, etc. Click here to see a video of a similar radio (sold previously) and iPod use. Chassis pics are available, 90 day warranty. Weighs 10 lbs, 14"W x 9"H x 8"D. |
