THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This is an excellent and very rare example of a 1939 "Dionne Quintuplets" radio made by Stewart Warner. Original paint with the "flea bite chips" typically associated with age, and faded but still excellent decals. There are no cracks in the cabinet, and the volume control knob and station selector appear to be original to the radio, as does the back. Broadcast band only 550 to 1740 KC. I restored the electronics and it works fine. All capacitors were replaced with modern equivalents, resistors checked to be within tolerance, tubes tested and weak ones replaced, IF transformers adjusted for optimum performance, and BC band aligned. Stations are where they should be on the dial. It has an internal antenna on the back, and provision for connecting a wire antenna. The original electrodynamic speaker has been replaced with a permanent magnet type. More pics are available, including chassis, just e-mail me. 90 day warranty on the electronics. 10"W x 5-1/2"H x 5"D; weight 4 pounds. |
