FADA 790 Series B AM/FM/Phono (1949)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The FADA 790 was one of the first radios built after WWII that included the modern FM band. This example is in wonderful restored condition and it works really well on both bands. This is the Series B version, an improvement over the initial design, and has eight tubes plus a ballast. It is original except for some tubes and the replaced capacitors and resistors under the chassis. I sold two of these previously and had no problems. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer example; the Bakelite case has no cracks or chips and no detracting scratches, dial is perfect, original grille cloth and dial cover. Knobs still have lettering and are correct. Complete electronic restoration was performed, band alignment, adjust IF transformers to give peak performance, and testing tubes: replacing bad or marginal ones with good ones. It has a phono input on the rear of the chassis. It is used by selecting Phono at the band switch. Phono switch also controls an Aux input cable (iPod, CD player, etc) that has been added. 90 day warranty applies. Weighs 10 lbs, 14"W x 9"H x 8"D.
