Emerson CY-288 "Big Strad" w/Ingraham Cabinet (1939)
(wood tube table radio)

Emerson CY-288 "Big Strad" w/Ingraham Cabinet (1939)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This vintage Emerson "Big Strad" is an Ingraham design and is a stunning radio! It is the third one I have owned and is the nicest. It has been electronically and cosmetically restored. It works very well, and covers the broadcast (550-1700 KC) and shortwave (2.4-7 MC) bands. The cabinet was restored using the finest toning and clear lacquers, then hand rubbed to a beautiful finish. The electronics are restored and original except for some tubes and all the replaced capacitors and some resistors under the chassis. The chassis looks as nice as the cabinet; I take great pride in restoring the entire radio, not just what is normally seen. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer example; the cabinet has no patches, dial is excellent, original speaker and knobs. Ingraham tag is still on the bottom. The dial cover and grille cloth are reproduction. Chassis pics are available. This impressive and rare radio would be a wonderful addition to any collection, but especially for an Ingraham collection! 30 day warranty applies. iPod® input can be added for $75. Shipping weight is 16 pounds, 16-1/2"W x 10-1/2"H x 7-1/2"D.
