FADA 790 Series B AM/FM (1948)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

FADA 790 Series B AM/FM (1948)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The FADA 790 was one of the first radios built after WWII that included the modern FM band. This example is in wonderful restored condition and it works really well on both bands. I have added a cable that you can use to plug in your iPod®/MP3/CD player. This is the Series B version, an improvement over the initial design, and has eight tubes plus a ballast. It is original except for tubes and the replaced capacitors and resistors under the chassis. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer example; the Bakelite case has no cracks, no detracting scratches, two very minor chips that do not detract; dial is perfect, original grille cloth and dial cover. Knobs still have lettering and are correct. Complete electronic restoration was performed, replacing all electrolytic and paper capacitors, check & replace out of tolerance resistors, band alignment, adjust IF transformers to give peak performance, and testing tubes: replacing bad or marginal ones with good ones. This is a new offering; I sold one like this last month. Additional pics available, 30 day warranty applies. Weighs about 10 lbpounds, 14"W x 9"H x 8"D.
