THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This very impressive and rather rare ERLA (Electrical Research Laboratories, Chicago) radio is an unusual set, with a "flat top" and a clock in the center of the speaker grille. It is a seven-tube TRF type receiver. The cabinet was refinished with clear and toning lacquers, and presents very well. It was restored electronically and has great sound and selectivity. The electric clock runs fine, but like most clocks of the era is not self starting, requiring a spin to get it going. The clock is the original and by Hammond, well known for quality. This would be an outstanding addition to any collection. This is a large set at 19"H x 14"W x 11"D and weighs 42 pounds. |
