(wood tube cathedral radio)

Atwater Kent 708 Cathedral (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Atwater Kent was a premier manufacturer in the early days of radio. This Model 708 has been in my collection for many years and is one of my favorites (I have another even nicer, which is the only reason this is being offered). It is an eight-tube Superheterodyne receiver covering the Broadcast and Short-Wave frequencies in four continuous bands from 550KHz to 20MHz. Electrically restored, it receives all bands very well when connected to a wire antenna. The expertly refinished cabinet is stunning with the delicate lacework grille and grille cloth. Speaker is flawless and chassis pics are available. 30 day warranty applies. Large for a table set at 16-1/2"W x 14-1/2"H x 10"D; weighs 24 pounds.
