This vintage Sears "Worlds Fair" stepped tombstone is truly an impressive radio! Note this is shown in Stein Vols II and III as "Worlds Fair" Model 1808, but this one matches the picture perfectly. It has been electronically and cosmetically restored. It works extremely well, and covers the broadcast (550-1700 KC) and shortwave (5.5-16.5 MC) bands. This is a seven tube model: 2-56, 2-58, 2A6, 47 and 80. The finish is very nice (already restored when I bought it so not sure how it was done) and displays great! I replaced the filter caps and all the paper caps. The speaker cone is perfect; the output transformer has been replaced. Additional pics are available. This rare radio would be a great addition to any collection! 15-1/2"H x 15"W x 11"D, shipping weight 24 pounds. |
