This vintage tombstone is a beautiful radio! The dial is really attractive. It has been electronically and cosmetically restored. It works extremely well, and covers the broadcast (550-1600 KC) and two shortwave (1.6-5.5MC & 5.5-15.5MC) bands. It is a six-tube model (6F6, 75, 6A7, 6K7, 6C5, 84) and has an unusual volume control, an inductively coupled unit (I've never seen another like it). The finish is excellent (correct toned and clear satin lacquers) and displays great (any white specs in pics are flash reflections)! Filter caps and all the paper caps were replaced; speaker cone is perfect; it has a great clear sound. Additional pics are available. Model 1908 is not in any of my books so it must be pretty rare (same circuit as the 1904 in Riders at 6-45). This would be a super addition to any collection! 16"H x 11-1/2"W x 8"D, shipping weight 25 pounds. |
