Pilot AC Super-Wasp K-115 with Amplifier & Power Supply (1928)
(metal breadboard radio)

Pilot AC Super-Wasp K-115 with Amplifier & Power Supply (1928)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This vintage Pilot kit includes the Power Supply & the very rare output amplifier (allows speaker use). All components are mounted on a home-made board and wired for plug & play operation, just add headphones or speaker. I tested it several years ago and it worked fine. When it sells I will re-test before shipping. Pilot kits were made in the late 20s and were very popular for those who wanted to listen to short-wave. A complete set of plug-in coils is included, as well as a reprint of Data Sheet 115 by Pilot Radio's David Grimes. Additional pics are available. This is your chance to own a piece of early radio history! The radio is rare; the power supply is rarer, and the amplifier is about impossible to find! I am the third owner; it was built in 1929 by a fellow in Richmond Virginia; his widowed wife sold it to the fellow I bought it from. 28"W x 9"H x 12"D, shipping weight 38 pounds.
