THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Here is the famous and most desirable early Philco in the lowboy cabinet. Most of these lowboys were parted out early on to harvest their chassis to restore the cathedrals, and remaining sets are usually found with a roach for a chassis with missing parts. This set has its original chassis in fantastic condition and I have just completed a detailed restoration which includes re-stuffing of all the capacitor blocks and boxes, and has the original filter capacitors still intact (electrically disconnected). The cabinet has a stunning mix of veneers that includes Black Walnut and quilted Maple. The grille cloth and knobs are both original. Excellent performance from this nine-tube chassis is hobbled in the cathedral with the horrible speaker those have, but in this lowboy the larger 12" speaker allows it to come to life with remarkable sound! 37-1/2"H x 23"W x 12"D. |
