Guild TK1577 "Teakettle" (1957)
(wood replica radio)

Guild TK1577 "Teakettle" (1957)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Guild novelty is an early transistor set, very cutting edge for its vintage. The radio plays loud and clear on and off the charger (the trivet). The rectifier and filter capacitors in the power supply have been replaced with fresh ones. The radio originally had a big square 9 volt battery that isn't manufactured any more. I added eight NIMH 300 MAH "AAA" batteries in the radio. The body is solid wood not veneer. The original finish is pristine. The brass pieces are solid brass, not plated. I polished each piece on a high speed buffer. The white part is porcelain ceramic. There is a small crack in one corner that has been repaired. I will double box the radio and power supply for shipping. 14"H (with trivet) x 10"W x 8"D.
