Grunow 580 Tombstone (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!
This is a beautiful Deco set from the mid thirties. Great two tone cabinet with walnut veneer in the center and sides and a birch herringbone border. The radio plays loud and clear and is very sensitive. It is a very state of the art design for its time, one of the first superheterodynes to use a heptode (7-element) converter tube with automatic volume control. The chassis has been completely rebuilt with all new capacitors and resistors, new isolation rubber mounts on the tuner assembly and chassis, and a complete alignment. Has two shortwave bands in addition to the regular broadcast band on AM. New grille cloth, new cloth cord and speaker cable and a vintage connector in the speaker cable to make servicing easier. 19"H x 13"W x 12"D. about 25 lbs packed.
