THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This is the coolest cabinet from the mid 30's when the skyscraper motif was the height of Art Deco. This radio has been totally restored with all new capacitors and resistors, tubes all checked out and replaced as necessary. Caps, both the electrolytics and Bakelites underneath, have been cleaned out and fresh new caps installed inside (restuffed). Also a new cloth cord and new chassis rubbers. I added a plug and socket for the speaker cable to make maintenance easier. The radio plays loud and clear and receives on both SW bands, but the middle one is the old police band so not sure what you can get on it. I aligned it with my signal generator; I can't get AM here because I live in a depression. The walnut cabinet has been refinished in lacquer. About 27 lbs packed. 18-1/2"H x 13"W x 9"D. |
