Here is a great example of a depression set that made the Art Deco scene with a budget at the time. Four-tube TRF model, chassis built by Gilfillan (who by the way is still in business doing commercial electronics). This set has been totally restored; it has paper box filter caps underneath, I meticulously restuffed them with fresh, and replaced all other caps and resistors in the radio. It plays loud and clear, my guarantee applies. All four tubes are the globe type which it had as a puppy in 1931. New grille cloth, cloth cord, NOS antenna hank of cloth wire, original Lansing speaker reconed, and original wood knobs. This set is a mini for its age, only 11"H x 9"W x 7"D. Shipping weight about 15 pounds. |
