THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This radio is a quite large table set. Beautiful walnut cabinet with original knobs, dial and dial plate. The set is designed to be used on AC, DC or even batteries. It was built for Montgomery Ward by Wells Gardner. This pre-War set was pretty cutting-edge for its time. It has an AC interlock which I never really have seen till the 60's when it was mandated by Federal Law. Also it has an internal loop antenna which works pretty good, Again, something that I have not seen too often on table sets till after the war. It has a shortwave band and I picked up shortwave on it even with the internal antenna but there is an external antenna connection on the inside of the rear cover so you can get some DX. It has been totally restored inside and out and plays loud and clear. My guarantee applies. One push button is a repro. 22-1/2"W x 12-1/2"H x 11-1/2"D, about 26 pounds packed. |
