Here is a beautiful high end radio, but I have no identification on it except for a pencil marked date on the underside of the chassis that reads Nov. 1934. If it was in fact manufactured then, it would be ready for the 1935 sales year. From the research I did it looks like the chassis may have been made by Sparks-Withington (Sparton) and a small independent company had a cabinet made for it. Their logo could have been a decal that has sloughed off over the years. From what I have seen, Sparton always had theirs on the dial face, but this one is generic. The radio plays loud and clear, it has been completely restored with all capacitors replaced, and all tubes, resistors and other components replaced as needed if out of tolerance. My guarantee applies. The cabinet has been refinished and finished with clear lacquer. An external antenna is required. 16-1/2"H x 12-1/2"W x 9-1/2"D, about 26 pounds packed. |
