THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This radio has been totally restored and it plays loud and clear. My guarantee applies. Although it was made in the early 40's, it was made for rural folks who still didn't have electricity. It uses batteries. This one did use dry cells and was self contained so it wasn't nearly as cumbersome as the earlier ones that used car batteries. I made fixtures for two "D" cells and ten 9V batteries. It plays great with them and I will include your first set of batteries. Regular carbon ones are available from the dollar stores in packs of two so all of them only cost about $6. Now you can have a tube radio in your collection that needs no time to warm up! About 15 pounds packed. 18"W x 10"H x 10"D. |
