Austin J Cathedral (ca1932)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Austin J Cathedral (ca1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a very rare find. Austin was a tiny manufacturer of some 30 or so in the Los Angeles area at that time, many of which fizzled in a very few short years. The chassis was manufactured by Gilfillan, another L.A. company that is in fact still in business. A good reason for this was because their high quality work landed them aerospace contracts. the radio has been totally restored and it plays loud and clear. My guarantee applies. New grille cloth, new cloth cord, original Bakelite plug and knobs. The original "naked" fuse holder was replaced with a much safer Bakelite one. About 17 pounds packed. 16"H x 12-1/2"W x 9"D.
