Zenith Royal 3000-1 Transoceanic (ca 1962)
(plastic tube portable radio)

Zenith Royal 3000-1 Transoceanic (ca 1962)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is a great working example of one of the most sought after Zenith TO's. The first one to have FM included in its eight bands. I received something on all eight bands with only the whip antenna up. this is a great radio and it is in excellent condition. Since it is a newer transistor set, I didn't replace capacitors as I do in the older sets, by the 60's the technology had grown to a state where their life expectancy is decades rather than years. The radio plays loud and clear and my guarantee applies. This radio (and its TO sisters the 1000-1 and 2000-1) have plug-in transistors, so servicing is a snap! I am showing batteries in the photo but I will ship it without because they add a lot of weight and that is asking for trouble. It takes regular "D" cells, so it is not expensive nor hard to find them. The battery box is like new clean, no hint of corrosion. There is also a jack for an external 12 volt source. For an extra fee I can make a 115 volt adapter and a car adapter for it.
