General Electric F-74 (1938)
(wood tube table radio)

General Electric F-74 (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

With NOS "meatball" eye tube! This GE radio was one of few GE 30s models that used the "Magic Eye" tube that RCA was touting for their own higher end sets of the time. For a short time GE actually had some of the 6U5 tubes made with their logo embossed onto the heater shield. This is an EXTREMELY rare find of a NOS tube of this nature. I have been keeping it since I found it many years ago until I could find an appropriate radio to put it into. Here it is, and the radio after being fully recapped and restored works great. With a proper antenna it will even get short wave! Radio cabinet is nearly perfect except for some minor veneer repair on the right side. On display you can't even see it. The photo looks worse than it really does... New finish is 95 sheen Mohawk lacquer. Radio should weigh about 24 pounds for shipping in double boxes. 19-1/2W x 10-1/2"H x 8"D.
