THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Unlike most other Guild radios of the mid 50s, this one is actually a transistor set. It uses a regular 9 volt battery, although in its day it used one a little larger physically. I stuck a small piece of foam in the battery compartment so it won't rattle around. This model also includes the "trivet" base that is actually a power supply so the battery won't run down while it is playing on the base. There is a new lithium battery in the radio now so it should last a pretty long time. The radio is made of solid maple, solid brass and porcelain. It plays loud and clear, power supply has been rebuilt with new diodes and caps, my guarantee applies. It is 14"H on the trivet with the handle up. 11 pounds. |
