THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This restored Silvertone is pretty rare. Solid walnut wood case with the controls on top and chassis mounted upside make it very unusual. It was manufactured by Continental Radio using five tubes and a built-in loop antenna. Tuning is accomplished using tuning slugs instead of a tuning condenser. It's AM only and reception is good with a little noise between stations which is common for early slug tuning radios. The chassis is mounted upside down in the case and uses thumb wheels for controls. This is a very unique small and attractive radio. If more pictures are needed send me an email with your requests. Click on my Restoration Process for more information. 9"W x 6"H x 6"D. |
