Grebe HS-4 (1931)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Grebe HS-4 (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Grebe was one of the finest names in the early radio business. This is a wonderful and very scarce example of the extraordinary quality they made inside and out. The radio is unique with the dramatically sculptured front panel and the classic cathedral cabinet. The one before you is all original all the way to the gold inlay factory knobs. The speaker cloth is a period correct reproduction. In fifty years of obsessive radio collecting, this is the second example of this radio I have seen. These radios were very expensive in the Depression years and only the wealthiest could afford such a radio. The original paperwork and owner's brochure accompany the radio, attesting to the remarkable condition and care the set has received. The chassis has been completely restored to a factory new condition and the six-tube super-het chassis plays perfectly. Note the earlier types of tubes which include a blue type. The radio has a huge Jensen speaker to offer the finest sound. 20-1/4"H x 18-1/4"W x 12"D.
