Truetone D-1006 (1937)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Truetone D-1006 (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

You are looking at a scarce model from the fine maker Detrola. Know for the outstanding and unusual cabinets, displaying fine craftsmanship and electronics to match. This is both a broadcast and shortwave receiver with an added bonus of tone control to shape the sound quality of the large 8-inch speaker. The super-het chassis is powered by a seven-tube layout for optimal performance. A standout feature of this model is the oversized, brightly lit dial. You will see the domestic clear channel stations of this era identified along with the premier shortwave stations. Note the finely crafted cabinet which I had professionally refinished along with period correct speaker cloth. The Bakelite knobs are factory originals and the radio is about as clean as they come. My tech has given the electronic a though repair and the radio is a particularly fine player. He has added a mini-jack to allow the connection of any modern device, so you can use the radio as designed or for your phone, pad or computer. Bluetooth is available for an additional $25! 20-1/4"W x 11-1/2"H x 9-1/2"D.
