Crosley 1055EK "Centurion" Tombstone (1935)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Crosley 1055EK "Centurion" Tombstone (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

When they made the higher tube count radios, the radios were quite special. This "Centurion" model is the perfect example of the best ones made. Contained within is a monstrous ten-tube super-het chassis that offers dramatic reception on both AM and shortwave. The added benefit of a full range 8-inch speaker makes the radio sound all the better! The set is a nearly perfect example with the entire factory supplied parts and "9" cosmetic original finish. There is a bit of wear on the right side, but I deemed it not to justify a refinish. You may see this wear in photo#4. The radio offers dual tuning, macro and micro in a watch dial type of configuration, which is brightly lit by a pair of dial lamps. The famous Crosley logo is quite striking. My tech gave his professional repairs to return the radio to the original superlative performance and it really is extremely sensitive. The shadow graph does perform on the strongest signals and the tone control adds a bonus feature. Our mini-jack has been installed to allow you to plug your modern device and play from you own content. Bluetooth is available for only $25 additional! 19-7/8"H x 16-1/4"W x 11-1/2"D.
