Silvertone 1942 Tombstone (1936)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Silvertone 1942 Tombstone (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Silvertone radios were made by many different factories for Sears. The breadth of the line was dramatic and the set before you was on the top of their selection. The advanced eight-tube super-het offered a highly sensitive green eye tube along with an advanced squelch and tone control. Note they "borrowed" the dual watch dial pointer configuration from Zenith. The radio has been nicely refinished and retains accurate speaker cloth and proprietary wood knobs. I thought the cabinet refinishing was done well, with the expected amount of aging from decades of service. These were very advanced receivers and play with fine sensitivity and sound. Les has done a fantastic job with his repairs and this plays like the deluxe model it was designed to be. He added a mini-jack to the radio, allowing you an unlimited choice of content with an external device. Choose your phone, pad or computer, the universal fit is there for any modern electronics. Bluetooth is available. 18"H x 15"W x 12"D.
