Zaney-Gill "Vita-Tone Midget" (1931)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Zaney-Gill "Vita-Tone Midget" (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

If you are a collector of the super rare and wildly Deco radios, this radio is a must. A tiny four-tube early cathedral crafted from mahogany with a black lacquer grille. The grille is really special with a whimsical palm tree motif. Displayed in numerous radio books, these are some of the scarcest radios you will ever find. The Los Angeles factory produced very few, and with only west coast distribution, you know how limited production was. I believe everything is factory original and in fine to very fine condition. The four-tube chassis has been professionally repaired by Les, allowing a decent level of reception. Due to the tiny size and small speaker, these radios were never destined to larger areas, but bedroom and den sized rooms. Note the very earliest date of manufacture, with the dial reflecting the earliest dial scale. Clearly a radio offered once a decade for sale, the black lacquer grille is stunning and unique. We did not add a mini-jack to this radio, but is available at no charge. Note: This radio does not have a mini-jack due to the type of circuit. It also will not accept a Bluetooth device. 13-1/2"H x 9"W x 9"D.
