(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Zenith 9-S-232 "Walton" Tombstone (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Considered as one of the most collectible of all of these old radios and displayed on the popular television program "The Waltons." These radios appreciate in value, as they are scarce and offer a dramatic quality of sound. You are looking at THE BEST example of this blue-chip radio I have offered for sale. The condition of the cabinet is a professional refinish with a high degree of duplication of the original. There is a bit of dip in the top due to age, a normal event. The speaker cloth is a correct reproduction and the knobs the iconic "Z" wood knobs. The radio comes with a photocopy factory supplied owner's manual. Les has replaced all of the components required to update the radio and ensure that you enjoy problem free ownership. We replaced the dead eye tube with a super sensitive 6E5 eye tube which shines bright with a great deal of sensitivity, opening and closing as you tune from station to station. The motor drive works perfectly, in both directions. The shutters work as smooth as silk. The chassis is very clean. Les has added a mini-jack allowing you to connect to an external device. This will allow you an unlimited choice of content. 23-1/4"H x 17-3/4"W x 13"D.
