Pilot 18 "The Dragon" Cathedral (1933)
(wood tube cathedral radio w/SW)

Pilot 18 "The Dragon" Cathedral (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

So seldom do I find any radio from Pilot available for sale. Collectors prize these radios, both cathedrals and tombstones, as they are rare and terrific sets. This is the first cathedral model I have seen in the last decade. It is the first model Pilot made, and is in tremendous original condition. Note the fancy Bakelite escutcheon and the original proprietary heavily sculptured knobs. There is a touch of veneer crease on the right side, difficult to see, but otherwise the radio is in remarkable original condition. The radio is a very early super-het, playing on six tubes. The reception is as good as any radio you might find from this early date. My technician has done a first class repair on the radio and it sounds super! He added a fine silk/cotton power cord and Bakelite plug as the radio had from the factory. This is a rare set and very impressive. 20"H x 16"W x 11"D.
