General Electric J-82 Cathedral (1932)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

General Electric J-82 Cathedral (1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is the largest and most desired of the General Electric cathedral radios. The radio is a classic, with a design that created the feelings of a Gothic church. The radio is all original, with the factory speaker cloth and floral carved ornate knobs. The chassis is remarkably clean, with full paper tags and no rust or discoloration. The cabinet is also factory original, with the minimum of usual wear but retaining a nice lacquer finish. The condition is fantastic considering the age of the radio. This model being the deluxe version, sported a powerful eight-tube chassis with automatic volume control. The super-het design brings in distant signals like a champ! My technician has done a complete repair, new filters in the power supply, condensers and resisters replaced as needed. The tubes check strong and with a tuner alignment, this radio is a real player. He has finished the radio with a fine silk/cotton reproduction power cord and Bakelite plug for your safe use and exactly as it left the factory 81+ years ago. 19-1/4"H x 14"W x 10"D.
