THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This is an interesting radio. The tombstone is a seldom seen eight-tube super-het chassis. Made by RCA, it was one of the most advanced and powerful early tombstones offered for sale. This particular set was sold by the famous Seattle, Washington piano company Sherman & Clay. This retailer had a super reputation, and closed after over 120 years in business. It was not uncommon for a high-end retailer to "house brand" deluxe lines. The radio retains a fine finish, with correct reproduction speaker cloth and factory installed wood knobs with detailed insets. My tech has done a superb job in his repairs and the radio plays in a remarkable fashion for such an early radio. Note the fine silk/cotton reproduction power cord and Bakelite plug for your safe operation. 19-1/2"H x 14"W x 11"D. |
