Detrola 7ZM Tombstone (1935)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Detrola 7ZM Tombstone (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is the scarcest and most interesting of the Detrola tombstones. I had never had a chance to see one of these... clearly rare. You can see the fine cabinetry and the fine craftsmanship in making of the radio. The most interesting part is the unusual super-het chassis, which was used in several different 1935 models a couple of consoles. The six-tube super-het chassis is adorned with dual "windows," the left called "micro tune" and the right the volume. The "micro tune" is a fine-tuning scale which allowed the most distinct way to tune in a specific frequency. The condition of the cabinet is super, and a very well done refinishing job with a gloss lacquer; simply beautiful. The previous owner reinstalled the original speaker cloth and the knobs are factory as well. My technician has returned this incredible set to perfect playing "factory new" condition. He remarked on the sophisticated electronics and the fine selectivity for a tube count as this. 18"H x 13"W x 10"D.
