THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
You are looking at an exceptional example of this blue chip radio. I was contacted by the grandson of the original owner, who at age 92 was still listening to the radio every day. She was moving into a nursing home, and the sheer size of the radio made the sale necessary. The condition of the cabinet is all original along with all of the other factory installed parts. The finish is terrific, showing the expected wear of 75 years. The radio comes with the factory supplied owner's manual that was sent with the radio when new. Seldom you will find such a one owner radio! My tech has replaced all of the components required to update the radio and ensure that you enjoy problem free ownership. We replaced the spent eye tube with a brand new one, shining bright with a great deal of sensitivity opening and closing as you tune from station to station. The motor drive works perfectly, in both directions. I doubt you will ever find a better example of this highly prized blue chip radio, and you will be amazed by the performance. Note this is the 1939 version, which has the paper tag, chassis stamp and model number on the cabinet. 23-1/4"H x 17-3/4"W x 13"D. |
