THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This is a really scarce radio. This AVR1 was one of the best radios made in the early 1930s. The radio benefited from RCA's labs use of the Armstrong patents and performs like a late 1930s super-het. The eight-tube chassis is a remarkable player, with a dramatic selectivity and tremendous sound from the over sized speaker. This is only the second example of this rare set that I have been able to acquire over the last ten years. The finish is original, and the radio retains all of the factory installed parts. Note there is minor veneer damage on the left side, so please study my photos. Also, you can see the fine detail with book matched chevron veneers on the front of the radio. My technician has done a terrific job in his repairs and has returned this set to perfect playing condition. You will enjoy listening to this radio, as it is a fantastic playing radio. 21-1/2"H x 14"W x 12"D. |
