Crusader 468 (1936)
(wood tube table radio)

Crusader 468 (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

You are looking at a terrific table radio. The radio is a powerful six-tube super-het, which offers both AM and Shortwave. Most interesting is the dramatic finish of the mahogany cabinet. The set was refinished offering a depth to the level of veneer work; the radio was finished with a hand polished twelve coat Mohawk clear lacquer finish. With the painstaking hand wet sanding between layers, using 1000 grit sandpaper, the work was completed in a classic manner. The piano like finish is dramatic in the depth and offers a unusually nice detail. The dial is a classic with the twin tower and globe in a super multi-color detailed way. The brightly lit dial is outstanding making the dial all the more interesting. Crusader was a very small factory located in Chicago, IL, and worked mostly as a contract factory to the national retailers. You seldom see their production under the factory name. 13-1/2"W x 9"H x 8"D.
