Balkeit Radio was a high-end factory that was limited in distribution in the late 1920s-30s. They made some very interesting radios, like the one you are looking at. This is a model that offers dual band, BC/SW reception and works off a sophisticated five-tube super-het chassis. The condition of the radio is very nice, with a very interesting application of veneers, and a very unusual and brightly lit dial. Called "Around the World," the ornate dial offers the relative time in various international capitals, and the relative time zones. The speaker cloth is an accurate reproduction, and the knobs original to the radio. My technician has done a very fine and complete repair to the radio and it is a fantastic playing radio with a high level of selectivity. He added a new power cord and plug for your safe use. 15"H x 14"W x 9-1/2"D.
