THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This is the second most sought after "Grand Cathedral," designed by Edward Combs, and considered one the most beautiful ever made. These were top of the line seven-tube super-hets, and were the finest and latest in technology. This particular example is one with automatic volume control incorporated into the circuit. Identical to its larger brother, the model 90, this radio offered all the great looks in a slightly smaller and less expensive manner. This radio is the deluxe version with the bronze escutcheon. The set was completely refinished long before I bought it with a higher gloss finish than the factory finish. There is a small veneer repair, and the radio displays nicely with an accurate reproduction speaker cloth. The tuner was aligned for accuracy, and the cord and plug replaced with accurate reproductions. If you want a great set to listen to, this seven-tube beauty is the radio to own. 18-1/4"H x 16-3/4"W x 11"D. |
