(wood tube cathedral radio)

Philco 70 Cathedral (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is the second most sought after "Grand Cathedral," designed by Edward Combs, and considered one the most beautiful ever made. These were top of the line seven-tube super-hets, and were the finest and latest in technology. This particular example is one with automatic volume control incorporated into the circuit. The set was completely refurbished. This is an all original example with the factory installed speaker cloth and knobs. The finish is original, showing a modest amount of wear for the 81 years since it left the factory. The tuner has was aligned for accuracy, and the cord and plug replaced with accurate reproductions. If you want a great set to listen to, this seven-tube beauty is the radio to own. 18-1/4"H x 16-3/4"W x 11"D.
