(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Philco 116B Tombstone (1934)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

You are looking at the finest radio made in this era. The super powerful eleven tube chassis is renowned for the great power and selectivity that were the finest engineering of its day. The factory finish is very nice, with minor wear and the radio retains all of the factory installed parts including the grille cloth. The radio resembles a skyscraper and has a fantastic form. This was the best radio that Philco ever produced. The radio is a very large and tall set. Since you are looking at a high-grade console-like radio in a table set, the TEN-inch speaker and large chassis required the enormous size. The radio is also exceptionally heavy, as they built a huge transformer to match the high tube count. The radio was completely repaired electronically with all new filters and caps, and resistors replaced as needed. The often damaged tuning meter works on this set. The radio in every technical respect meets all of the factory specs. A fine silk reproduction power cord and plug have been added for your safety. This is a nice radio just to listen to, and enjoy its classic beauty. 23-1/2"H x 17"W x 13"D.
