Luxor 6R Tombstone (1936)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Luxor 6R Tombstone (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

I do not have much information on the maker of this outstanding radio. Clearly, it was a very deluxe receiver of the era playing both broadcast and shortwave. The six tube chassis powers a HUGE 10 INCH speaker. The cabinet is in a stunning original finish ornately veneered in rose wood, tiger wood and onyx. I have never seen a more decoratively styled set. The radio features a large octagonal dial, which lights beautifully, decorated with a map of the world and surrounded by a chrome frame. The condition is outstanding. My technician has done a beautiful repair to the radio and it sounds fantastic. This is a very large and impressive radio at 20-1/2"H x 15"W x 12-1/2"D.
