Silvertone 1589 Cathedral (1933)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Silvertone 1589 Cathedral (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This was one of the best early super-hets offered by Sears. The radio is a deluxe receiver, as good as any made and a powerful seven-tube model. Most interestingly, the cabinet is out of Chestnut veneer with wormy chestnut veneer across the arch. The radio is further decorated with a classic Greek key motif with highly decorative insert knobs. The condition of the cabinet is nice, an older refinish with a correct replacement speaker cloth. The radio was repaired by my tech, returning it to the high level of performance this radio was design to deliver. He added a fine silk reproduction power cord and new Bakelite plug for your safe use. This is a highly desired model, and not very common. You will be delighted to own this beauty. 18-1/4"H x 14-1/2"W x 11"D.
