RCA 9T Tombstone (1935)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

RCA 9T Tombstone (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

You are looking at the second largest and most powerful tombstone radio ever made by RCA. The radio is rare, and it has taken me years to secure this example. These were the second highest tube count (nine tubes) that RCA ever made and was a direct competitor to the Philco eleven-tube radios. RCA did things differently, with macro and fine tuning and a very early use of a green tuning eye, several years before any other maker. The radio is a stunning example, with an older refinished cabinet. The speaker cloth is a very acceptable replacement and the knobs, factory originals. The radio has a brand new green tuning eye, which is extremely sensitive and winks with all passing stations. The sensitivity of this top of the line model is remarkable, along with a super strong audio circuit. My tech has completely repaired this beauty and the radio is like new. He added a silk power cord and new Bakelite plug, as you will enjoy listening to this radio for many years. This set is extremely large to accommodate all of the tubes and large speaker: 23"H x 17-1/4"W x 12"D.
