You are looking at an all American classic. This model of Catalin radio is always a choice radio. The radio is made of Catalin Bakelite, a thick and translucent material that was molded in the 1930's and 40's. The character is deep with a swirl at random, and was made in various colors. This radio started its life as alabaster, and as is the nature of this Bakelite, has aged to a pumpkin orange color. Other than a number of stress cracks around the dial from shrinking over the decades, the radio is free of any other cracks or chips. The radio has all the factory installed parts, with the exception of the correct reproduction knobs, a perfect match. The radio is a five-tube chassis and has been serviced to play as good as new. Note the radio retains the factory back. This radio will delight and stand out in any display. 10-1/2"W x 7"H x 6"D.
